If you need a saw for pruning, trail maintenance or camping then look no further as a Silky Folding Saws provide the perfect balance between performance, as well as being easy enough to move around in any situation.
We are lucky to have a loyal following from gardeners to arborists alike, who truly appreciate the power a Silky Saws offer, you can even fit your Folding Saw in your backpack with their secure folding mechanisms. Protecting your blade and yourself if you need to throw and go!
Our Folding Saw ranges include the Pocketboy, F180 and Gomboy collections. Please do not be put off by their size, these still have the same cutting action and precision but are more compact and lighter than their counterparts.
Our folding saws feature razor sharp impulse-hardened teeth that are heated to a high temperature for a split second, just like our range of Fixed Saws which are designed to stay sharper for up to 3 times longer with the correct use, care and maintenance.
The handles of the saws are lightweight, and all come with a “Gom” Handle that offer superior grip, absorbs vibrations and feels comfortably warm when the temperature has dropped.
We do have an arbor composite handle on our range of Outback Folding Saws, these are made from 70% wood powder. This does have a different feel to the “Gom” rubber handle but is more environmentally friendly and grips well with greasy substances.
So, what can you use a Silky Folding Saw for?
Your options are versatile you can easily prune fruit trees, cut firewood, ideal for use on a hiking trail, whilst camping and for bushcraft activities. Recommended for anyone that cuts on the go but still wants the precision and power of a Fixed Silky Saw. They will rip through dry or green wood with a smooth cutting action which reduces fatigue, making longer sessions of cutting feel effortless.
What size can you cut up to with a Silky Saws?
A question we are asked time and time over, whether using a Fixed or Folding Saw, our only recommendation is that the blade can handle branches with a diameter equal to a third to a half of the blade length, make sure to never cut anything bigger than your blade can allow, as this could damage or even break your blade. By using our recommendation, the blade length is allowed to glide the whole way from tip to hilt, making for a quicker, more efficient cut and is less damaging to the branch.
Are they a cut above the rest?
If you ever thought a compact saw couldn’t handle real work, I hope we’ve helped to change your mind. Tough, efficient and crafted to last and a good partner to our Fixed Saw range. Our Silky Folding Saws show that even big performance can come in small packages.
We love hearing from our Silky users, so if you’ve any questions or queries and would like any advice please feel free to contact us.
