Hayate Range

The Hayate Pole Saw is the professional's pole saw with thick, state-of-the-art, oval-shaped aluminium alloy poles. This shape provides precise control over the direction of the blade (especially important in poles of this length) and reduces the chance of bending to a minimum. The Hayate range includes the massive Hayate 3 Ext 7700 with an extension range of 7.7m - one of the longest pole saws in the world!

The telescopic design has two locking systems - a spring loaded locking button and friction clamps which work in tandem to ensure a strong and stable pole extension.

There are four different sizes of Hayate Pole Saws:-

  • Hayate 1 Ext 3800 with 1 extension pole - range 2.4m - 3.8m
  • Hayate 2 Ext 5000 with 2 extension poles - range 2.4m - 5m
  • Hayate 3 Ext 6100 with 3 extension poles - range 2.4m - 6.1m
  • Hayate 3 Ext 7700 with 3 extension poles - range 2.8m - 7.7m

The aggressive Hayate 420mm curved blade uses Silky's proprietary Mirai-Me teeth configuration and offers an aggressive teeth ratio of 6.5 teeth per 30mm. The blade is designed to cut efficiently, is harder than conventional blades, and maintains a superior wear resistant cutting edge.

The blades have a lower sickle for undercutting bark and removing epicormics with a clean cut to avoid damaging the tree and an upper sickle for cutting vines – these sickles also help prevent the blade slipping off the branch. The lower sickle can be removed if necessary. The Hayate Pole Saw comes equipped with a rigid-plastic blade guard with a built-in carrying handle. In addition, the base pole includes a pole end shock absorber to help protect the pole when resting on the ground.

It is ideal for pruning large branches at higher positions without ever climbing a ladder. This is the strongest and fastest, telescopic pole saw available on the market today.

All Hayate Pole Saw blades can be re-sharpened with a feather edged file and all parts are replaceable.

The Sintung Lopper attachment can also be fitted to the Hayate Pole Saw range by means of an adaptor which connects the top pole to the Sintung Lopper.

To extend the Hayate Pole Saw, the clamps must be released and poles extended from the bottom up and closed from the top down.

It is important that both locking systems are used to ensure the structural rigidity of the extended poles. Spring loaded locking buttons allow multiple length adjustment and safety friction clamps hold the extensions firmly in place.

As with all Silky Saws, the cut is on the pull stroke which means the blade will be under tension and will not bow.

Let the blade do the work for you.

Never force the blade on the push stroke as you will be pushing against the direction of the teeth – if the blade becomes caught, do not push hard against it. Carefully take the pressure off the blade in order to release the saw.

The Hayate Pole Saw should always be stored in the closed position with the blade guard in place. It should also be cleaned of any debris/dirt to ensure a smooth opening operation. The blade should ideally be cleaned with a solvent – this will help to prolong its useful life.

WARNING. DO NOT USE POLE SAWS WITHIN 15M OF POWER LINES OR ELECTRICAL WIRES. Failure to heed this warning may result in serious injury or death by electrocution.

WARNING. NEVER CUT DIRECTLY ABOVE YOUR HEAD. Always consider where falling branches will land on the ground. We strongly recommend the use of protective hard hats and glasses when using pole saws.

WARNING. Silky Saws are extremely sharp so please be careful when using and keep away from children. Improper use can cause serious injury.

MANUFACTURER WARNING. Incorrect use of a Silky Saw may cause injury. Silky, its affiliates, subsidiaries, importers, distributors and dealers are not responsible for and shall not be liable for any fatality, injury, loss, or damage resulting from the use of its saws.

The Hayate Pole Saw is telescopic and is constructed of thick aluminium alloy. They are oval in shape which provides extra strength and rigidity and minimises bend when fully extended. This gives the user greater control over the direction of the blade when cutting.

In addition there are two locking systems which again work to assure structural rigidity of the extended poles:

  1. locking pins/buttons - the primary pole locking mechanism
  2. friction clamps - the secondary pole locking mechanism

The two systems are designed to work together. Spring-loaded locking buttons allow multiple length adjustments and safety friction clamps hold the extensions firmly in place. This dual locking system allows 100% of the effort at the handle to be effectively transferred to the blade.

This Hayate blade is manufactured from SK-4 carbon steel and cut out by laser. The taper-ground profile reduces drag and directs more usable energy to the cutting edge. In addition, the 'non-set' design teeth means they are formed inside the width of the blade – this reduces friction and enables a cleaner, faster and easier cut. Many other saws have teeth formed to project outside the width of the blade requiring much greater effort when sawing.

There are four razor sharp cutting angles on the inside of each tooth. Silky call this 'Mirai-Me' and it enables the blade to cut both quickly and smoothly through the branch, significantly reducing splintering and producing a very fine smooth cut. The super fine cut destroys up to 50% less wood cells allowing the tree to heal faster and reduces the risk of disease.

The Hayate Pole Saw blades are also chrome plated which helps protect against rust and sap as well as providing additional strength. This also helps extend the life of the blade.

The base pole has a pole-end shock absorber and award winning GOM rubber over grip. The lower pole also has a wrist strap which can be attached at the top or bottom of the handle. This is designed to transfer the weight of the pole saw to your bicep rather than your neck.
