Ibuki

The new Ibuki has a larger teeth configuration (5.5 teeth per 30mm) than the current model (6.5 teeth per 30mm) to saw even faster. The blade is equipped with Silky’s unique Mirai-Me teeth (previously 4-RETSUME teeth) for a smoother sawing motion and cleaner finish. The blade has been engraved on the other side and ‘Professional’ has been added. The scabbard has become red instead of black and is therefore more visible. The leg straps will no longer be standard delivered in the package. These will have to be ordered separately. The blade of the Ibuki saw can also be attached to Hayauchi Pole saws.

The new Ibuki is available in one length – 390mm and the teeth ratio is set to 5.5 teeth per 30mm. The old Ibuki is still available and comes with a 6.5 teeth per 30mm blade.

Both Ibuki versions come with a comfortable rubber handle and a custom made, durable polypropylene holster which can be attached to a belt with slots for leg straps.

The saws are designed to have replaceable blades and all other parts are also available. Ibuki blades can also be re-sharpened for longer life.

Silky Saws are traditional Japanese pruning saws and as such are designed to cut on the pull stroke. The blade will be under tension on the cutting stroke and will not be able to bow.

Let the saw do the work.

Never force the blade on the push stroke as you will be pushing against the direction of the teeth. Carefully take the pressure off the blade in order to release the saw.

Generally you should experience fewer vibrations and use less effort enabling longer work and improved productivity.

The saw should be cleaned of any debris/dirt. Ideally the blade should be cleaned with a solvent being careful to keep it away from the handle - this will help prolong its useful life. Store away from moisture.

Ibuki blades can be re-sharpened for longer life.

WARNING. NEVER CUT DIRECTLY ABOVE YOUR HEAD. Always consider where the falling branches will land on the ground. We strongly recommend the use of protective hard hats and glasses.

WARNING. Silky Saws are extremely sharp so please be careful when using and keep away from children.

MANUFACTURER WARNING. Incorrect use of a Silky Saw may cause injury. Silky, its affiliates, subsidiaries, importers, distributors and dealers are not responsible for and shall not be liable for any fatality, injury, loss, or damage resulting from the use of its products.

Silky Saws are manufactured from SK-4 carbon steel and cut out by laser. The teeth are designed with no set which means they are formed inside the width of the blade – this reduces friction and enables a cleaner, faster and easier cut. Many other saws have teeth formed to project outside the width of the blade requiring much greater effort when sawing. The super fine cut destroys up to 50% less wood cells allowing the tree to heal faster and reduces the risk of disease.

The Ibuki utilises Silky’s proprietary 4-Retsume teeth technology which literally means ‘4 rows of teeth.’ As a result the teeth are set in such a way that there appears to be 4 rows of them which leads to faster, easier pruning.

The blades are also chrome plated which helps protect against rust and sap as well as providing additional strength. This helps extend the life of the blade.

Almost all Silky saws are fitted with a specially designed rubber 'GOM' handle which reduces vibration and improves grip, reducing the danger of slipping in wet conditions.
