The Hayauchi Pole Saw range of extending telescopic pole saws are widely used by both professional and home users. They have robust aluminium alloy poles that are oval in shape and provide better control over the direction of the blade. This is especially useful in high pruning. It also helps give strength and rigidity to the poles so reducing the chance of the poles bending and breaking.
The telescopic design has two locking systems – a spring loaded locking button and friction clamps which work in tandem to ensure a strong and stable pole extension.
There are three different sizes of Hayauchi Pole Saw:-
The Hayauchi Pole Saw comes with a 390mm curved blade and fairly aggressive teeth ratio of 6.5 teeth per 30mm.
It utilizes the Silky 4-Retsume teeth technology - ideal for the toughest pruning jobs. The blade can be adjusted to two different angles for lower or higher cutting.
The blades have a lower sickle for undercutting bark and removing epicormics with a clean cut to avoid damaging the tree and an upper sickle for cutting vines – these sickles also help prevent the blade slipping off the limb.
The blade comes with a protective black rigid guard for extra protection. The base pole includes a pole end shock absorber to help protect the pole when resting on the ground.
Hayauchi blades can be re-sharpened with a feather edged file and all parts are replaceable.
The Sintung Lopper has been specifically designed to be attached to the top of the Hayauchi Pole Saw. Simply remove the blade head and replace with the Sintung Lopper attachment.
To extend the Hayauchi Pole Saw, the clamps must be released and poles extended from the bottom up and closed from the top down.
It is important that both locking systems are used to ensure the structural rigidity of the extended poles. Spring loaded locking buttons allow multiple length adjustment and safety friction clamps hold the extensions firmly in place.
As with all Silky Saws, the cut is on the pull stroke which means the blade will be under tension and will not bow.
Let the blade do the work for you.
Never force the blade on the push stroke as you will be pushing against the direction of the teeth – if the blade becomes caught, do not push hard against it. Carefully take the pressure off the blade in order to release the saw.
The Hayauchi Pole Saw should always be stored in the closed position with the blade guard in place. They should also be cleaned of any debris/dirt to ensure a smooth opening operation. The blade should ideally be cleaned with a solvent – this will help to prolong its useful life.
WARNING. DO NOT USE POLE SAWS WITHIN 15M OF POWER LINES OR ELECTRICAL WIRES. Failure to heed this warning may result in serious injury or death by electrocution.
WARNING. NEVER CUT DIRECTLY ABOVE YOUR HEAD. Always consider where falling branches will land on the ground. We strongly recommend the use of protective hard hats and glasses when using pole saws.
WARNING. Silky Saws are extremely sharp so please be careful when using and keep away from children. Improper use can cause serious injury.
MANUFACTURER WARNING. Incorrect use of a Silky Saw may cause injury. Silky, its affiliates, subsidiaries, importers, distributors and dealers are not responsible for and shall not be liable for any fatality, injury, loss, or damage resulting from the use of its saws.
The Hayauchi Pole Saw is constructed of aluminium alloy. They are oval in shape which provides extra strength and rigidity and minimises bend when fully extended. This gives the user greater control over the direction of the blade when cutting.
In addition there are two locking systems which again work to assure structural rigidity of the extended poles:
The two systems are designed to work together. Spring-loaded locking buttons allow multiple length adjustments and safety friction clamps hold the extensions firmly in place. This dual locking system allows 100% of the effort at the handle to be effectively transferred to the blade.
This Hayauchi blade is manufactured from SK-4 carbon steel and cut out by laser. The taper-ground profile reduces drag and directs more usable energy to the cutting edge.
The Hayauchi utilises Silky's proprietary 4-RETSUME teeth technology which literally means four rows of teeth. As a result, the teeth are set in such a way that there appears to be four rows of them which leads to faster, more aggressive and easier pruning. These saws can easily be used for rougher cutting and heavier tasks as they can rip-cut, cross cut and slant-cut.
The Hayauchi Pole Saw blades are chrome plated which helps protect against rust and sap as well as providing additional strength. This also helps extend the life of the blade.
Hayauchi Pole Saw blades are not manufactured using electro impulse hardening and as such can be re-sharpened using a feather edge file. This should help extend the life of the blade.
