Silky Technology

Silky saws cut on the PULL stroke for faster, more efficient cutting and excellent discharge of chips. Cutting on the pull stroke requires less energy and gives you more control over the action of the saw.

Four Rows of Teeth - Teeth are set in such a way that there appears to be 4 rows of them. These are rough cutting hand saws for heavier tasks. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut.

Hard Chrome Plating - Hard chrome plating produces an exceedingly hard, durable surface. The blades are resistant to rust and the effects of resin. They are finely or mirror polished and wipe clean easily.

Rubber Handle - Almost all Silky saws have rubber compound elastomer handles, either inserted or vulcanised to ABS plastic or steel. Rubber handles are more comfortable to hold, reduce vibration and offer superior grip in the cold and wet.

Non-set Teeth - Blades are made from SK-4 high carbon steel and taper ground i.e. thicker at the tooth edge, thinner at the back of the blade. This taper reduces resistance giving smoother, easier, faster cutting performance.

Silky Black Plating - The blade and teeth have a black coating of a unique nickel and tin blend. This provides a long blade life and an incredible cutting performance. In addition, the dark, non-reflective color makes these saws particularly suitable for tactical operations.

Arbor Composite Grip - These handles have a warm and comfortable touch. No matter the cold or wet conditions, this handle offers a safe grip and superior control. It is constructed from a unique wood/plastic composition.

Impulse Hardening - Using a special high frequency heating technique, teeth are heated instantly and hardened. Because only the teeth are heated the blade retains its normal flexibility. Hardened teeth stay sharp about 3 times longer than non-hardened.

Mirai-Me Smooth Coating - The teeth of the future! Blades have precision ground, razor sharp teeth with 4 cutting angles along their length. They leave an especially smooth surface after cutting and are ideal for pruning, greatly reducing the risk of infection. They can rip-cut, cross-cut and slant-cut.

Good Design Award - G-Mark Award by Japan Industrial Design Promotion Organisation.

Sharpenable - Because impulse-hardening is not applied, the blades marked with this symbol can be sharpened with a file.

Nickel Coating - The advantage of nickel is that this material pours well into the edges. Therefore, the nickel coating is equal all over the blade and that ensures a smooth surface and less material wastage. The nickel plating is applied after the teeth are ground into the blade. In doing so, the teeth will remain sharp for a long time and are protected against rust.
